Cristina Max
The way you move matters
Seventeen years ago, Cristina fell in love with movement. Captivated by the incredible way humans are able to connect with their bodies and minds, she decided to open her own Pilates studio.
In 2009, Cristina opened Max Pilates alongside Studio Revolution, a functional fitness and sports performance facility. Sharing space with Studio Revolution allowed Cristina to be a student again, educating herself on the fundamentals of functional movement. But, as she expanded her love for movement, she noticed one practice which lacked instruction on quality movement, core control, and longevity—Yoga.
In 2013, her relationship with movement came to a breaking point. After a hip injury and arthroscopy, Cristina struggled to recover. To heal, she dedicated herself to functional movement and injury prevention. After recovery, sitting in her apartment one day, she thought about converting her living space into a yoga studio dedicated to thoughtful movement.
In 2015, Cristina opened 110 Yoga. Through 110, she shares her expertise for functional movement and love for education. To date, she has assisted and led over ten 200-hour teacher training courses. She continues to work with physical therapists, massage therapists, and movement specialists to advance her yoga practice.
Besides movement, Cristina loves her two dogs, Ty and Banks, her friends, and her family. She’s an avid supporter of local businesses and female-owned businesses like hers. She also loves astrology and uses it as a tool to better understand herself. Fun fact: She’s a triple Gemini (her sun, moon, and rising signs are all Gemini)!
